The correct way to use our 12 panel drug test cup is to collect the sample following our specimen collection guidelines, verify the results, and follow up any positive result with a confirmation from a lab. Procedure
- Donor provides urine specimen in the cup and screws the cap on.
- Operator checks the cap for tightness, starts timer
- Remove peel off label
- Check temperature strip on back. A green color will appear to indicate the temperature, proper range is 90°-100°F
- At 5 minutes read the results. Presence or absence of drugs is indicated by the colored bands in the results area.

Used in conjunction with visual collection and laboratory confirmation, these strips can help providers detect adulteration of samples. The adulterant strips are read in ranges that go from abnormal low, normal, and abnormal high. The ranges on these strips are fairly wide, so specimens that read outside those ranges usually indicate some form of adulteration (intentional or unintentional) or possibly a medical condition.
